A girl, who is so far not given a name, is in a dark room. She is alone and does not know where she is. She does not remember her name or any of her friends or family members. She gingerly walks towards a bright light and sees images of items circulating around her. There is a bracelet, a spoon, a pair of socks, hairclips, a handbag, and a few more items. Now, she is expected to meet up with someone named Gabriel, but she does not know this person...
Protagonist VS. AntagonistPg. 6-13 The Sweatshirt
The protagonist in The EVERAFTER is Madison Stanton. She is the protagonist, because when she went back in time, she tried to fix her problems, with the items that she lost. In this chapter, she lost a red sweatshirt. This belonged to a boy, and she found it and decided to return in back to him. This is all happening by the real living Madison. Therfore thee are two Madisons, one is dead, and the other is alive. The dead Madison, knows what is going to happen, and tries to stop it, because she knows that the real Madison is going to make the wrong move. Suddenly, the dead Maddy becomes the real Maddy. She knows that a girl named Dana is going to steal the read sweatshirt from her, and this is how it did go missing. Therfore, she did not get it back.
The antagonist in the book, would have to be the living maddison's death. The death of her, caused her to not move when she was at the setting of the art class. An excert from page 6, is I tried to remember what it was like to have a body since I didn't have one. Also, she thought that she was in a bad place, when the setting was descibed as dark and lonely. Madison,died because she did something bad with all of those items. The death of her, could have been the protagonist however when the dead Madison became the real Madison, everything that already happened, happened again, meaning she could not give the sweatshirt back to the boy.

I really like how you explained who was your protagonist and antagonist. Also, I agree that Madison would be the protagonist, and Maddy's death is the antagonist, like you said. Can you explain the plot of the story a little more though?
ReplyDeleteSure. Well, since I didn't get too far in my book yet, I can explain what is going on so far. Maddison, is dead. They don't explain how, but We will find out in the end. So, some how Madison went back in time, using the items that she found when she was in the dark room. She went back in time to an art clasroom. This is when she saw the living Maddison. She walked towards her, but it was hard, since she could not feel her body. When she walked toward her, a magnetic pull made the dead Madison become the real Madison, and then,she could not give the red sweatshirt back to the boy. Basicly, the dead Madison, re-visits all the activites that she does, and how they went wrong. For all the other items that she found, sh is going to try to make those situatons change, and be better than tis one. I know that my book is a bit confusing, but I hope that this helped a little bit!
